How long do IV certification classes usually take?

Depending on the student's profession and the level of course being taken, IV certification classes can range from a few hours to a full day. Typically, the courses are a short, one-time class.

The students in IV training classes are typically nurses, RNs or EMTs. These certification courses offer basic training on how to insert, connect and monitor IVs. Nurse IV therapy is a more intensive course designed for RNs and LPNs. In this course, nurses take part in lectures as well as clinical rotations and first-hand insertion of IVs both on themselves and others. It is always recommended that nurses and health care providers frequently refresh their knowledge of IV therapy.
