How long do jaguars live?
By Forinfos - 23/04/2025 - 0 comments
Jaguars live for 12 to 15 years in the wild. Jaguars spend the first year of their lives with their mothers, after which they become solitary creatures only socializing with other jaguars for mating.
Jaguars might not reach their expected longevity because they have become a threatened species. They are frequently poached for their hides, which leads to dwindling numbers in their natural habitats. Additionally, the human encroachment caused by growing populations has reduced the number of jaguars still living in the wild. When jaguars threaten livestock, farmers and ranchers kill them to eliminate the potential loss of income. This can also result in reduced life spans.
