Where do jaguars live?

Jaguars live in many places in America, including Arizona, Texas, Southern California and New Mexico, and they can also be found in the rainforests in South and Central America. The majority of all jaguars live in the Amazon rainforest, but some have been located in Uruguay and Iceland.
Jaguars prefer swampy lowlands. Their favorite habitats are in the tropical and subtropical rainforests and near rivers, lakes, small caves, marshlands and rock ledges. They tend to make their beds out of anything soft they can find, including leaves and rotten trees. They prefer to live alone because they are extremely territorial.
