How long does Jello take to set?

Jell-O, or gelatin dessert, takes approximately 2 hours to set. There are assortments of gelatin deserts that come in several different flavors. For consumers who are uninterested in using commercial products, there are also healthier recipes that use organic-based ingredients.

Commercial gelatin products mix sugar and other ingredients to create gelatin desserts. The mixture is quick to make, but the actual gelatin takes quite some time to set.

A healthier alternative to commercial brand gelatin products use organic materials to make the dessert. The following recipe uses fresh fruit, juice, gelatin and water to make a healthy gelatin dessert.

1. Pour water into bowl

Make sure the water is cold and pour it into a large bowl, then add gelatin powder.

2. Mix the powder

Mix the gelatin powder into water the until it thickens.

3. Add hot water

Pour a 1/4 cup of hot water into the gelatin. Mix it until the mixture thins. Once mixed, add juice to flavor the gelatin.

4. Place pieces of fruit in a bowl

Take the pieces of the fruits that are being used and place them into a bowl. Proceed to pour the gelatin onto the fruit.

5. Set the gelatin

Place the gelatin in a refrigerator and allow 2 to 3 hours for it to set properly.

6. Serve dessert

Once done, cut the gelatin dessert into shapes and serve it.
