Ladybugs have an average lifespan of two to three years in the wild. They are insects that are red in color with black spots. Ladybugs are omnivores that help farmers throughout the world by eating plant-eating insects. In doing so, they help protect crops from being eaten by other insects.
Ladybugs are also known as lady beetles or ladybird beetles. In total, there are around 5,000 different species of ladybugs around the world. Not all of them eat insects, and many actually are herbivores and eat only plants. These types of ladybugs can be very destructive and can kill the plants that they eat.
