How long does it take to make dentures?

Dentures typically take two to three weeks to make, as Legacy Dental explains. However, temporary partial dentures, known as flippers, can be made within 24 hours if needed; these dentures usually replace only a few teeth at most.
A patient must visit the dentist or prosthodontist several times during the process of making dentures, according to WebMD. The process begins with taking dental impressions and measurements. The prosthodontist then makes a wax or plastic pattern for the dentures and fits it to the patient's mouth. Once the fit, color and shape are okay, the prosthodontist casts the final dentures and makes any needed adjustments.
