How long does it take for Mars to rotate?
By Forinfos - 26/03/2025 - 0 comments
Much like Earth, it takes Mars about 24 hours 37 minutes to make a complete rotation. However, Mars takes 687 days to make a complete revolution around the sun.
Mars revolves around the sun at 14.5 miles per second, which is only 4 miles per second slower than the Earth; however, Mars is 49 million miles further from the sun, so it takes almost twice as long to make a full orbit. Mars is tilted on its axis at approximately 25 degrees and 12 minutes, and this tilt combined with its rotation gives Mars its seasons, similar to the seasons on Earth.
