How long is the Nile River?

The Nile River is approximately 4,135 feet in length. At it widest points, the river can stretch across two miles. The only other river to rival the size of the Nile is the Amazon River located in South America.

The Nile River is located in the northeastern continent of Africa. Parts of the river reach 11 countries, including Egypt, Sudan, South Sudan, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Burundi, Kenya, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea and Uganda. Today, the Nile River supports nearly 300 million people who live in its range. The Nile River is known for playing an important role in the development of early civilizations such as the ancient Egyptians.
