How long do sea turtles live?
By Forinfos - 17/04/2026 - 0 comments
While it's difficult to determine the exact lifespan of a particular species of sea turtle, some sea turtles have been known to live 50 years or more. They have a similar lifespan to humans.
It takes approximately 20 to 30 years for sea turtles to become sexually mature. Sea turtles may travel thousands of miles to find a breeding site, where they breed multiple times. The female sea turtle then crawls ashore and lays her eggs in a pit she digs in the sand. She buries them completely and returns to the water. The eggs incubate for two months before hatching. A sea turtle is capable of completing many migration, mating and breeding cycles during its lifetime.
