How long does smoked turkey last in the refrigerator?

Smoked turkey lasts in the refrigerator for three days, once the meat is removed from the bone. The meat keeps for up to six months in the freezer.
Smoked turkey can be prepared indoors or on an outdoor smoker. It is best not to stuff the turkey when smoking it. Stuffing the turkey increases the time it takes for the bird to cook thoroughly. The turkey should be brushed with vegetable oil before cooking. The turkey must increase in temperature from 40 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit in four hours or less to cook properly. The turkey may take up to 12 hours to be thoroughly cooked.
