These fish are ovoviviparous, meaning that the eggs remain inside a female during the gestation period before being released. When the spotted eagle ray reaches full maturity, it can weigh up to 500 pounds. It is commonly found in tropical waters globally, inhabiting shallow coastal waters near coral reefs and bays.
