How long does it take to train to be a midwife?
By Forinfos - 21/11/2025 - 0 comments
On average, it takes four years to obtain a degree in nursing to train and earn a bachelor's degree to become a midwife. However, some midwife programs require a graduate degree, which adds two more years of education and training.
If a prospective midwife enrolls in an accelerated program at a college or university, the path to becoming a midwife may be fewer than four or six years. Many prospective midwives choose to train as registered nurses before testing for CNM and CM credentials to become midwives. Specific health and science courses are often required prior to entry a midwife certification program or graduate school.
