How long does it take for a turkey vulture egg to hatch?

Turkey vulture eggs are laid in the spring and take between 30 and 40 days to hatch. The turkey vulture egg is a chalky white egg with brown speckles. It is laid in a tree, a cliff or a rocky area with little or no nest.

The turkey vulture can be found from southern Canada south into the United States, Mexico and South America. Both sexes of the bird look alike. Though it is known for eating carrion, the turkey vulture occasionally eats live small animals such as lizards and even raids the nests of other birds for eggs and hatchlings.
