How long does it typically take for AEP to restore Texas power outages?

It is impossible to accurately predict how long it may take to restore power outages, according to American Electric Power. Typically, an outage lasts a few hours before power is restored. Major storms hinder restoration efforts, thus outages in such cases last longer, usually a few days.
The best source of restoration efforts is the local news channels. AEP Texas issues statements through the media updating its customers about the restoration progress during a major power outage. Restoration to residential and industrial customers may further be delayed as priority is given to hospitals, AEP facilities and emergency response centers. A power outage caused by a tripped circuit breaker or fallen trees on a power line is easily restored once the customer gets in touch with a customer care representative. Restoration takes a couple of hours during weekdays.
