How long would it take to count to a million?

The length of time it takes to count to a million depends on the rate of counting. At the rate of one count per second, it would take one million seconds to count to that number. One million seconds is equal to 16,666.67 minutes.
This is equivalent to 277.78 hours, 11.57 days or 1.65 weeks, assuming that the person counting is doing so continuously without breaks. This period is not realistic, however. The scientifically documented world record for sleep deprivation is held by Randy Gardner, who was able to stay awake without the use of stimulants for 264 continuous hours, 13.78 hours short of the time needed to count to one million.
