According to Guinness World Records, Christine Walton of Las Vegas, Nev., has the longest nails in the world as of September 2011. The length of her fingernails totals 19 feet 9 inches, with 10 feet 2 inches on her left hand and 9 feet 7 inches on her right hand.

The record holder for the woman with the longest fingernails ever as of 2014 is Lee Redmond, whose nails measured a total of 28 feet 4.5 inches in 2008. However, Redmond lost her long fingernails in a car accident in 2009.

For men, the record holder for the longest fingernails ever as of 2014 is Melvin Boothe, whose nails were measured at a total of 32 feet 3.8 inches a few months before his death in 2009.
