There is no one player who receives the lowest salary; however, as of the 2015 Major League Baseball season, the minimum salary for players on a Major League roster is $507,500. This salary is negotiated as part of MLB's collective bargaining agreement, or CBA. It is a raise of $7,500 compared to the 2014 season.
MLB's minor league system has two levels of minimum salary for its players. Players working on their initial professional baseball contract begin at a minimum salary of $41,400, while players who have signed their second professional contract in the minors earn $82,700. MLB's CBA is up for renewal at the end of the 2016 baseball season.
