What is the lowest temperature on Venus?

By Forinfos - 17/05/2025 - 0 comments

The lowest temperature on Venus is minus 175 degrees Celsius, found at an atmospheric layer 125 kilometers above the surface of the planet. The planet's average temperature, however, stands at 464 degrees Celsius, making it hotter than Mercury despite being farther away from the sun.

The cold layer of Venus' atmosphere has a high chance of developing carbon dioxide ice, giving it bright areas that reflect light. The composition of the planet's atmosphere is 96.5 percent carbon dioxide, which creates an intense greenhouse effect. Venus has approximately 90.2 percent of the Earth's surface area and 81.5 percent of the Earth's mass.
