What is a macaw's predator?

As of 2014, the majority of macaw species in the wild are endangered, and some are even extinct. This is due mainly to deforestation in Central and South America, and illegal trapping for black market sales. The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna regulates international macaw trade. Macaws are desirable as pets because they are intelligent and sociable. Macaws are sometimes hybridized for pet trade, altering their colors and genetics.
