The four major landforms in Israel include the Mediterranean Sea coastline, the Judaean Mountains, the Great Rift Valley and the Negev Desert. Israel is also home to the Dead Sea.
The coastal plain stretches from Lebanon in the north to Gaza in the south and is a fertile and humid region. The Judaean Mountains, located in the central part of Israel, are made up of the Samarian hills, the hills of Galilee and Mount Hebron. The Jordan Rift Valley is in the eastern part of the country and includes the Jordan River, the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea. At 12,000 square kilometers, the Negev Desert is the largest landform in Israel, covering more than half of it.
