Some of the major landforms in Florida include the Atlantic Coastal Plains, Everglades, East Gulf Coastal Plains, Florida Uplands, Big Cypress Swamp and the Florida Keys, with the largest being Key Largo. Florida is a peninsular state dotted with numerous islands, swamplands, rivers, lakes and ponds.
Florida forms land boundaries with Alabama and Georgia, and is surrounded by the Straits of Florida, Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean, which is the state's lowest point. Situated on the Florida Panhandle, the state's highest point is Britton Hill with a summit of 345 feet. The largest body of water within Florida is Lake Okeechobee, which empties into the Florida Everglades.
