Idaho is located in the Rocky Mountains, and much of the state is taken up with different mountain ranges, including Clearwater, Salmon River and Seven Devils. Idaho also has the Snake River Plain, which is a fertile plateau region where much of the state's agriculture is centered, and Hell's Canyon, which is the deepest gorge in the country, going to 7,900 feet at its deepest point.
Idaho's other significant geographical features include the 212-feet-high Shoshone Falls, the Snake River and the terrain at the Craters of the Moon National Monument. Idaho has almost as many rivers as it does mountains and is home to 16,000 miles of stream and rivers.
