What major structures did the ancient Egyptian craftsmen build?

The ancient Egyptian craftsmen built the pyramids, palaces, royal tombs and temples that people marvel at today. Some also built forts. Along with artists, the craftsmen were part of a proud Egyptian tradition.

The most skilled craftsmen and artisans trained at the Temple of Ptah in Memphis. It was the draftsmen and architects who were responsible for erecting Egypt's wondrous structures, but the craftsmen also included weavers, dyers, jewelers and painters.

Ancient Egyptian artwork did not typically reflect realistic human images. The Egyptians believed in depicting the inner self and only included true-to-life renderings of human beings in the background of illustrations.
