Making an Applebee's walnut blondie brownie with maple topping is easy to do at home with a copycat recipe developed by Todd Wilbur. Blondie ingredients include flour, eggs, light brown sugar, white chocolate and walnuts. The sauce uses ingredients such as maple syrup and cream cheese.

In a bowl, beat 4 egg whites until stiff peaks form. Add 1/2 cup each of softened butter and packed light brown sugar, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth. In another bowl, sift 1 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet sugar mixture, blending until smooth.

Cut 8 ounces of white chocolate into chunks. Stir in 1/2 cup of milk, white chocolate chunks and 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts. Pour mixture into a greased 9-by-13-inch baking pan and bake for 40 to 45 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Cool cake and cut into eight squares. Prepare the maple sauce while cake is baking.

In a microwave safe bowl, combine 1/2 cup of softened butter, 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, 1/4 cup of softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Blend on low with an electric mixer. After cake cools, heat sauce in the microwave for 30 to 60 seconds.

Place brownie servings on a small hot cast iron skillet or plate, and top with warm sauce, 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream and 1 tablespoon of chopped walnuts.
