How do you make cookies with M&Ms?

Shortbread cookies with M&Ms require plenty of butter, sugar and flour. These cookies are crunchy, sweet and a little dry.

M&Ms Shortbread Cookies

Shortbread dough serves as an excellent counterpoint to the sweet, chocolate richness of M&Ms. Make up this recipe to serve with afternoon tea or have as a light dessert.

Cook Time: 30 min.

Total Time: 50 min.

Ingredients:

• 1 c. butter
• 1/2 c. sugar
• 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
• 2 c. flour
• 1/4 c. corn starch
• 1/2 c. chocolate chips
• 2 c. M&Ms candies

1. Soften the butter and preheat the oven

Set butter out to soften about an hour before cooking. Preheat the oven to 300 F.

2. Mix the dough

Mix the butter, sugar and vanilla until well combined. Blend in the flour and corn starch. At this point, cook can mix in M&Ms directly into the dough, if desired.

3. Shape the cookies

Roll the dough into balls 1-inch in diameter. Press each ball flat and place onto a baking sheet. Top each flattened cookie with several M&Ms.

4. Make the cookies

Bake the cookies in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove and place on a cooling rack to cool for 5 minutes. At this point, cookies may be topped with a chocolate drizzle made from melted chocolate chips. Allow to cool completely before eating.
