How do you make a cornhole set?

To build a cornhole game, gather the necessary boards and fittings, secure the items together and then test the unit for durability. Sizes of cornhole boards vary, but the American Cornhole Association has certain designated standards that are used for tournament play.
- Gather the necessary materials
Cornhole requires two 24-inch-by-48-inch plywood boards, four two-by-four boards cut to 24 inches, four two-by-four boards cut to 45 inches, four two-by-four boards cut to 12 inches, screws, washers and a carpenter's compass. Draw a six-inch diameter circle on each plywood board with the center of the circle nine inches from the top. Use the carpenter's compass to ensure precision.
- Secure the items together
Make two rectangular frames using the 24-inch and 45-inch boards. These frames are secured to the plywood boards with stainless steel screws. Next, the 12-inch pieces are attached and serve as the legs of the board. These legs attach to the 24-inch and 45-inch frames.
- Test the set
Cornhole bags can be purchased or homemade. Each bag consists of two wool sheets sewn together and stuffed with beans to generate a weight of 16 ounces. These bags should be tossed at the newly-constructed boards that are set to rest roughly 30 feet apart. Depending on the friction of the bags against the plywood, lubrication may be needed to increase glide.
