This change did not have any effect, except for the bank name change, to customer accounts, according to Synchrony Financial. Customers who had registered their accounts online with GE Capital Retail Bank don't need to re-register. They can use their existing user ID and password to access the various online services, including bill payment, on the Synchrony Financial website.
