Make lipstick last by choosing one that has a satin finish and using a shade that is either bright or dark-colored. Prepping the lips before applying lipstick, using lip liner and applying face powder over the lipstick also makes it last longer.

The majority of lipsticks that are labeled as long-lasting have a matte finish that dries out the lips; those with a satin finish contain more pigment, which allows them to last longer. Lipsticks that are darker or brighter also have a greater amount of pigment, which allows them to last longer than lighter colors. Using a lip pencil adds an additional layer of pigment to lipstick to ensure that it lasts longer as well.
