How do you make newspaper nails?

To make newspaper nails, clean the nails, apply a base coat and white polish, dry the nails, submerge them in alcohol, cover them with newspaper, peel it away and apply a top coat. This 45-minute process requires nail polish remover, cotton balls, a bowl, vodka, nail polish and a newspaper.

1. Clean the nails

   Soak a cotton ball in nail polish remover, and wipe the nails until they are free of oil and old nail polish.

2. Polish the nails

   Apply a clear or neutral base coat, wait 30 seconds and apply white nail polish. Wait 60 seconds, then apply a second coat of white polish.

3. Dry the polish

   Give the polish at least 20 minutes to dry. Do not skip or rush this step.

4. Soak the nails in vodka

   Pour vodka into a small bowl to a depth of 1 inch. Insert one fingernail into the vodka, and hold it there for 10 seconds.

5. Apply the newsprint design

   Remove the nail from the vodka, and immediately cover it with a piece of newspaper. Press the paper down so it covers the entire nail, hold it there for five seconds, and rub the paper to transfer the design to the nail. Peel the newspaper away. Repeat steps 4 and 5 with the remaining nails.

6. Apply a clear top coat

   Brush the nails with a clear top coat.
