A radiator cover is made out of wooden planks and is made to sit over a radiator. To channel out radiation, sheet metal is used as a front grill. If desired, the finished radiator cover can be decorated to suit your tastes.

  1. Take measurements of the radiator

Measure the length, width and height of the radiator. These measurements will help in determining the size of the material required. Use a measuring tape to take the readings, and jot them down on a piece of paper.

  2. Obtain materials

Get pieces of wood that are a couple of inches longer than the measured dimensions. Keep a rectangular box in mind when making the purchase, and buy accordingly. In order to retain heat radiation, get a steel sheet to fit the front of the cover. Grated sheet metal will serve the purpose perfectly.

  3. Join the pieces of wood, and affix the sheet metal

Use nails or wood glue to form a rectangular wooden box that resembles the dimensions of the radiator. On the front, use a saw with the help of a drill to cut out another rectangle for the grated sheet metal. Once the radiation outlet has been cut, affix the sheet metal into place using nails.

  4. Decorate

Use different colors of wood, carvings, paint and even sticker to make the cover look more attractive and to match your decor.
