Malaysian national dress can be categorized into four categories: Malaysian Malay, Malaysian Chinese, Malaysian Indian and Orang Asal. The traditional dress for Malaysian Malay men is baju melayu, which is a loose tunic worn with trousers, while women wear the baju kurung, which is a knee-length blouse worn with a skirt.

The Malaysian Chinese traditional dress for men is a short-sleeved shirt worn with trousers and a cheongsam for women. Malaysian Indian women wear a sari or a shalwar kameez and men wear kurta-pajama, lungi, sherwani or dhoti. The aboriginal people of Malaysia wear Orang Asal, which are hand-crafted costumes made of natural materials and ornaments.
