Why do male rabbits pull out their fur?
By Forinfos - 14/08/2025 - 0 comments
Both male and female rabbits pull out their fur when they are kept with guinea pigs, are kept with too many rabbits or are uncomfortable due to an injury or bite wound. Pulling out fur is not natural and if a rabbit is doing this then the owner will need to find the root cause and eliminate it.
If the root cause of the hair pulling is from overcrowding then the rabbits will need to be separated and be given adequate space to live. If the problem is due to an infection, injury or bite wound then the rabbit will need to be seen by a veterinarian. Sometimes this hair pulling will lead to additional hair loss that creates a patchy bald look on the rabbit.
