Where is Malta located?

Malta is a small island nation that is part of Southern Europe and is surrounded by the Mediterranean sea. It does not share any land borders with any countries but is located south of Sicily, Italy. The country has a total land area of approximately 196 square miles and is located at the geographic coordinates of 35 degrees 50 N, 14 degrees 35 E.

The climate of Malta is Mediterranean and has dry, hot summers and rainy, mild winters. The terrain of this small island nation is rocky, low and flat and has many coastal cliffs. The elevation on Malta dips as low as zero meters at sea level and as high as 830 feet at Ta'Dmejrek, which is near Dingli.
