Where is Manila?

Manila is the capital city of the Philippines, located on the island of Luzon. The city area is 15 square miles. As of 2000, the population of Manila was 1,581,082.

Manila has a tropical climate with a wet season from June to November and a dry season from December to May. The Pasig River bisects the city. Nearly all of the residents of Manila are Filipinos, and the major religion practiced is Roman Catholicism. Manila is the finance and trade center of the Philippines, and most of the country's imports and exports pass through Manila. Manufacturing in Manila includes textile production, food and tobacco processing, publishing and printing and chemical processing.
