The Futura family of tires are manufactured by Pep Boys. The three lines offered by Pep Boys include the HR, VR and Futura Scrambler models. Futura HR and VR tire lines are H and V speed rated. The Futura Scrambler line is suitable as an SUV/light truck tire.

According to the official Pep Boys website, the company was founded in Philadelphia in 1921 by four Navy friends. It came about after they pooled together $800 to open a single auto parts supply shop. As of May 2014, this multi-billion-dollar company has over 800 stores across the United States and Puerto Rico.
