How many astronauts have been to space?

As of July 13, 2014, worldspaceflight.com has on record 545 astronauts who have been to space, based on United States Air Force?s (USAF) report. F?d?ration A?ronautique Internationale?s (FAI) reports on this same website, that 539 astronauts have been to space.
More than 560 people were trained by different manned spaceflight programs to become astronauts. They were educated to give commands, fly as a pilot, or serve as a crew member of a human-operated spacecraft. Out of this number, 536 have been in Earth?s orbit. There are 6 people currently in space as of July 13, 2014. These astronauts are Oleg Artemyev, Aleksandr Skvortsov, Steven Swanson, Alexander Gerst, Maksim Surayev and Gregory Wiseman.
