Though "Goldy's Kitchen Cookbook" is Davidson's first book outside of the mystery genre, it does not represent a major departure from her previous work. Davidson's mysteries incorporate food as a major plot point, and she includes several recipes in each novel. Her writing career began with 1990's "Catering to Nobody." Davidson's mysteries feature heroine Goldy Bear, a small-town caterer from Colorado who doubles as a crime solver.
