Enid Blyton wrote more than 1,800 books, including 947 short story series books, 186 novels and 227 recreation books. She has been credited with more than 10,000 plays, poems and short stories. Some of her best known book series include Great Adventure Stories, Barney Mysteries and Famous Five.
Enid Blyton was born on August 11, 1897 in England and died on November 28, 1968. Her first book, a book of poetry titled "Child Whispers," was published in 1922. Blyton wrote about a variety of topics in her books, including mythology, mystery, education and fantasy. As of May 2015, her books have sold more than 600 million copies in 90 different languages.
