How many Brookshire's grocery stores are there?

As of 2015, there are 151 Brookshire's stores in the United States. The company operates in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. Brookshire's used to have stores in Mississippi, but the Kroger grocery chain and a local chain called Food Depot bought them.

The first Brookshire's store opened in 1928 in Tyler, Texas. In addition to stores under its own name, the Brookshire Grocery Company also operates stores under Super 1 Foods Stores and FRESH by Brookshire’s. The company employs and partners with more than 13,795 people. Brookshire's also has three distribution centers, two in Tyler, Texas, and one in Monroe, Louisiana, a fleet of 72 tractors and over 300 trailers.
