According to Authority Nutrition, the amount of carbs allowed daily for a low-carb diet depends on a person’s age, weight, activity levels and gender, among other factors. However, a recommended amount of carbohydrates for most people is 100 to 150 grams daily.
People can eat some types of carbohydrates more liberally while still losing and maintaining weight, as long as the person is already active and lean. These types of carbs include limitless vegetables and a number of pieces of fruit daily. Limited amounts of potatoes and sweet potatoes are also permitted on a low-carb diet, as are lesser amounts of rice and oats.
