Ramesses II, also known as Ramses II and called Ramesses the Great, had more than a hundred children, but the exact number is not known due to the inscriptions of the names being damaged and incomplete. The estimate of the known children goes from 50 sons and daughters to 111 sons and 59 daughters.
Ramesses the Great was able to produce so many offspring due to two factors. He lived to be approximately 96 years old and had 200 or more wives and consorts in his harem. The high number of wives and children was due in part to the high death rate during the time period. It is thought that approximately a third of the births resulted in death. Ramesses himself out lived at least the first 13 of his children.
