How many cultures are there in the United States?

There are numerous cultures in the United States, with the most dominant being Western. The United States is also influenced by African, Asian, Native American, Polynesian and Latin American cultures. The United States is unique because it is a country with a rich mixture of cultures.

Almost 80 percent of the population in the United States is made up of those identifying themselves as Caucasian, which is why the Western culture is considered predominant. Almost 13 percent of the population is made up of African Americans, while 4.43 percent is made up of Asians. Native Americans and Alaskan natives make up a mere 0.97 percent.
