How many ends are there in curling?

There are ten ends in competitive play and eight ends in standard play in the sport of curling. An end can also be described as a round, in which each team takes turns sliding a stone towards a target. This target is known as the "house."

Each stone weighs 42 pounds and is slid across an icy surface. The house sits 42 feet away. During the sliding process, two players use brushes to coax the stone to curl, speed up or slow down as it makes its way towards the center of the house. This center looks like a bull's-eye and is called the "tee."
