The 1996 through 2006 Dodge Stratus models each hold about 16 gallons of gas. As of 2014, drivers of a Dodge Stratus spend an average of $1,000 more on fuel-related costs than the average driver of a new car during a five-year period.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the 2006 Stratus gets 19 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway using regular gasoline. Those estimates are more conservative than the manufacturer’s estimates of 21 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway. Fuel efficiency is virtually the same for the 1996 model, and both models have average greenhouse gas emissions.
