How many hours should be between Dramamine dosages for dogs?

Dogs may get a second dose of Dramamine after 8 to 12 hours, according to Franklin Animal Clinic. Most dogs just need a single dose about 30 minutes to an hour before beginning travel.

Dramamine can be safe to use occasionally for dogs that suffer from travel sickness or to induce sleepiness during travel. The recommended dose is 2 to 4 milligrams per pound of dog or about 1/2 tablet for a 10-pound dog. Overdose can cause excitement, lethargy, seizures, coma, respiratory depression or even death, so it is important to give the least amount needed, according to Franklin Animal Clinic. Some dogs should not get Dramamine, especially pregnant dogs, so check with a vet before administering the drug.
