How many legs does a roly poly have?
By Forinfos - 16/10/2025 - 0 comments
A roly poly, or pillbug, has seven pairs of legs that make a total of 14 legs. The front three pairs are angled forward, as if they were arms. The rear four pairs are pointed backward.
The legs of a roly poly are jointed and connected to the segmented body. These bugs also have two pairs of antennae, one large pair and one small pair, which are sometimes mistaken for legs. They have two exopods near the tail that may look like small legs. When the roly poly feels threatened, it can draw all its legs up under its body and fold up into a small, pill-shaped ball for protection.
