The largest nuclear weapon in the United States stockpile is the B83 nuclear weapon, which has a yield of 1.2 megatons. Since the beginning of the United States nuclear weapons program, around 11 nuclear bombs have been lost due to accidents. During the Cold War, the United States stationed approximately 950 nuclear weapons in South Korea.
