How many people does the average person physically meet in a lifetime?

Considering the thousands of individuals any one person meets just during their adolescence alone, the average person may well meet upwards of 10,000 people in a lifetime. Nonetheless, calculating how many people the average person physically meets in a lifetime is a somewhat impossible statistic.

This number can, of course, change substantially based on an individual's line of work. A person who works at home after graduating school will probably have far fewer actual meetings than a traveling salesman who may physically meets thousands of people in just a single year. Famous celebrities may meet upwards of 10,000 people in a single year from public appearances alone, or being recognized on the street.
