How many red squirrels are there in the world?

Red squirrels are smaller than gray squirrels,and vary in color depending on the season and their habitat. The squirrels have a copper tinge during the summer and gray patches during the winter months. The fur on the underside of the animal is cream or white. The red squirrel is native to the United Kingdom. Currently, most red squirrels are found in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the North of England.
