How many SUNY universities are there in New York?

SUNY, the State University of New York, has 64 schools across New York State. These schools include those at the University at Buffalo, State University at New Paltz, State University College at Purchase and Binghamton University.

Established in 1948, SUNY is the country's largest public university system. Included in the 64 schools are 29 state-operated campuses, 30 community colleges and five statutory colleges. SUNY additionally operates research centers and hospitals across the state. The system enrolls students from every state of the country as well as internationally, and offers a wide variety of programs such as law, engineering, medicine, optometry, philosophy and fashion design.
